The Open Learning Zone takes place on Day 2 of LiftEx (Thursday 14th November), and includes Continual Professional Development sessions hosted by the LEEA L&D and Technical teams offers free training to attendees.

A LEEA Senior Training Specialist will deliver presentations on the Legislation and Standards that concerns lifting equipment documentation and their statutory thorough examinations.

Aim – To provide the seminar attendees with a clear understanding of lifting equipment legislation, in particular, the supply documentation and the statutory thorough examination requirements within the United Kingdom.  

Objectives –  Following the seminar, the attendees will be able to recognise and interpret how the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, various supporting Regulations and Standards apply to lifting equipment.

Aim – To provide the workshop attendees with in-depth explanations and demonstrations of chain blocks and lever hoists examination procedures.

Objectives – Following the presentation, the attendees will have an enhanced knowledge of the procedures whilst examining chain blocks and lever hoists, including identifying the correct marking requirements, the possible defects that can be found and recognising the importance of carrying out the examination in a logical sequence.
